For the fourth consecutive season, the Chicago Fire have officially broken their single-season attendance record. They surpassed last season's record of 398,644 fans, set last year, with 25,841 fans at Wednesday's match against Orlando City putting them over the line at 419,492.
The Fire previously broke standing attendance records in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Even more impressively, they've broken the record with a home game to spare, although the remaining matches, against the Columbus Crew, will be played at the smaller SeatGeek Stadium.

Since the World Cup, drawing close to or over 30,000 fans has become the new normal in Chicago. The arrival of global superstar Robert Lewandowski is partially to thank for that, as he has brought in a few thousand Polish fans from near and far for every game, but the team has otherwise seen a healthy boost in attendance that can also be attributed to improved results. Together, those factors have given the Men in Red roughly a 20% crowd boost above baseline.
The Fire are currently in the top 3 in the Eastern Conference, making them a much more attractive spectacle, especially after the Cubs and White Sox were eliminated from the playoffs earlier this month.

Despite drawing as strong an attendance as they have at Soldier Field, the Fire will almost certainly have to host home playoff games at their secondary venue in Bridgeview because of the Chicago Bears' schedule. SeatGeek Stadium, where the team played between 2005 and 2019, has a capacity of just under 20,000, meaning home playoff crowds will be substantially smaller than regular-season ones. The only caveat is that if the Fire do reach and host MLS Cup, Soldier Field will be fully available.
The Fire plan to open their own downtown, soccer-specific stadium in 2028. McDonald's Park, as it will be known, is planned to seat only 22,000 fans; under the current MLS structure, with a 17-game regular season, that would cap regular-season attendance at 374,000. As a result, this season's record is unlikely to be broken unless a larger stadium is built in the future.
